The North East is a leading light in the UK Subsea sector

Advanced HNC at Tyne Met College

With many well established, international companies alongside the SMEs and start-ups, we produce subsea products and services that are truly world class.

One of the most common training concerns expressed by employers in this sector is that even candidates who have completed traditional engineering or manufacturing courses don’t have the skills to be shop floor ready. Whilst Higher Education is helping it is clear that more could be done to meet the specific needs of this growing sector.

NE Skills Engine wants to bring employers and training providers together to create courses to ensure our success continues and the North East remains respected as a Subsea Centre of Excellence on a global scale.

Working alongside the NTMF and TAMF, Tyne Metropolitan College is looking to engage with employers and identify their training needs. The information gathered will be used to enhance HNC qualifications, resulting in increased skills and ultimately productivity and growth.
